Born from Humble Beginnings
Grace Charity Organization was founded from compassion, resilience, and lived experience.
Our founder, Mrs. Dadakpoye Johnson, MSN, APRN, PMHNP-BC, grew up in the heart of poverty — in a home marked by challenges but strengthened by love.
Her late mother, Mrs. Grace Abeke, was the pillar of that home. Though she never attended college, she understood the life-changing power of education, hard work, and faith. Her strength turned hardship into hope.
Through perseverance, she raised three daughters who became registered nurses and a son who became a skilled diesel technician and professional truck driver — proof that determination, discipline, and grace can rewrite any story.
Among them, Mrs. Dadakpoye Johnson rose to become an Advanced Practice Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner and Doctoral Candidate at Walden University. Her journey — from poverty to purpose — became the heartbeat of Grace Charity Organization, named in honor of her beloved mother.
Our Mission
Grace Charity Organization exists to empower women, men, and children in Lagos, Nigeria, by providing:
- Education and vocational training
- Trade-school enrollment and career mentorship
- Food assistance, healthcare awareness, and community outreach
We believe that healing the mind and uplifting the community go hand in hand — and that lasting change begins when compassion meets opportunity.
